Hi, I’m Carolyn.

Strengths: Trivia, cooking & baking, figuring things out - from appliance repair to crochet. My daughter will get frustrated with me because she thinks I’m just “good at everything”. I tell her all I’m really good at is trying very hard, and not being scared to fail and try again.

Weaknesses: I use an embarrassing amount of paper towels. I need to work on that. Literally my only flaw. ;)

When I was in elementary school, I wanted to be an architect. My grandpap bought 3D floorplan software for me and I used it all the time designing cute houses. I am and always have been slightly obsessed with the homes and churches, all the buildings really, in the historic district in my hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. In high school I took an AutoCAD and drafting class. I was the only girl in there and I, being pretty competitive, was always at the top of my class and completed my work faster than just about everyone. My instructor talked to me about industrial design at Auburn University and convinced me to job shadow at an architecture firm because he didn’t think I’d like it as much as I thought. He was right, it was very slow-paced and the environment at the firm I visited was very quiet and dark…so, I decided to focus on product design. After graduating from Auburn University with a degree in industrial design and a minor in marketing, I began my career as a product designer in southern California. I somehow found out how much I loved graphic design (and marketing meaningful products and services) a few years later, and started working as a graphic designer supporting the healthcare industry in Charlotte, NC. My approach merges concept with strategy to accomplish your goals, creating campaigns that drive results and collateral that meets your needs, through a process that is as efficient as possible.
